This beautiful little gem of a painting (11 x 14 original…plus framing) is by long-time SCI supporter Jan Martin McGuire, who was the SCI “CONSERVATION ARTIST OF THE YEAR”  in 2008 with her painting "SIMBA SHADOWS" of lions resting in the shade of a tree.   Jan is an ardent believer that an artist has to experience what they paint.  To that end she and James travel extensively all over North America, Central America and Africa – where they lead annual photographic and natural history trips to Kenya and Tanzania.

Jan recently had her first solo exhibition in New York at FORBES GALLERIES (corporate galleries of FORBES magazine) on 5th Ave.  She has also had her work exhibited in the SMITHSONIAN, LONDON NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM, DALLAS MUSEUM OF NATURAL HISTORY, NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC HEADQUARTERS and many other top museums.
